Oman- OTC library opens for students after major renovation

The renovated and expanded library at Oman Tourism College (OTC) has been officially opened for students.

H E Dr Abdullah bin Mohammed al Sarmi Undersecretary in the Ministry of Higher Education inaugurated the library in the presence of Sheikh Khalid al Massan CEO of Oman LNG Development Foundation stated a press release.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Dr Abdulkarim bin Sultan al Mughairi dean OTC faculty and officials from the college. The library renovation project has been funded by the Oman LNG Development Foundation under its corporate social responsibility programme. H E Dr Sarmi congratulated Oman LNG for its commendable effort towards enriching the academic environment at OTC.

While Sheikh Massan appreciated the Oman LNG Development Foundation's commitment to contributing to the community Dr Mughairi thanked the company for its support and asked students to utilise the library to achieve their academic goals and professional aspirations. The library is Wi-Fi-enabled and now boasts of world-class facilities such as a search-and-work area which has 63 new computers. I

t also has a state-of-the-art computer lab for assignments; training and conference rooms e-readers touchscreens for efficient book search and retrieval and a self-borrowing machine. The renovated library also has a huge collection of books and publications including magazines and journals from regional and international publishers. It also has publications that highlight the various aspects of the sultanate.
