UAE economy to increase 2.9 percent in 2016


(MENAFN) UAE economy will grow by 2.9 percent this current year, from an estimated 3.5 percent a year earlier, as oil prices continue to slip.

The UAE Economy Minister viewed the economy increasing between three and 3.5 percent in the cited year.

"We see limited further upside to Abu Dhabi's oil production in 2016 after it increased production by seven per cent year-on-year in September 2015 to 2.9 million barrel a day," said economist.

Additionally, Abu Dhabi's gross local product is predicted to increase by 5.2 percent in 2015 and 4 percent this year.
