UAE- Cleaner held for theft at post office in Sharjah

The Sharjah Police have arrested a 26-year-old Sri Lankan man for stealing Dh23955 from an Emirates post office in the Sharjah industrial area. The suspect was arrested hours before he was to flee to his home country.

The police said the suspect who worked as a cleaner at the post office broke into the office and stole the cash from a safe.

A Criminal Investigation Department officer said: "We have collected fingerprints and other forensic evidence."

Initial investigations revealed that the suspect entered the post office from the rear and damaged mail boxes and cameras. The police arrested him from his accommodation as he was preparing to flee to home country.
