Craig Strickland found dead


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Craig Strickland was found dead on Monday after have been missing for a week. He was 29. His body was recovered in Bear Creek Cove on Kaw Lake following a massive search in the area, north of Tulsa, Okla. "#CraigStrickland was found today," his wife, Helen Strickland, tweeted. "He is safe with his Father in Heaven. Thank you Lord for leading us to him today. I will praise you, Amen."

His friend Chase Morland sent a haunting, final tweet on December 26 about the duo embarking on a duck-hunting trip during a winter storm. "In case we don't come back, @BackroadCRAIG and I are going right through Winter Storm Goliath to kill ducks in Oklahoma. #IntoTheStorm," Morland tweeted late Saturday. The men were reported missing the following day.

On December 28, Backroad Anthem, Strickland's country rock band, revealed that Morland, 22, had been found dead at Kaw where their capsized boat was also discovered. "Everyone please say special prayers for the family of Chase Morland," Backroad Anthem wrote on Facebook. "They were very close friends and it is such a heartbreaking loss. Randy Strickland (Craig's father) has informed us Craig has not been found. Please keep praying for his safety."

Strickland had been a member of Backroad Anthem, which consists of six country musicians based in Fayetteville, Arkansas, since 2012.
