(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman Jan. 5 (Petra)--The Lower House of Parliament warned of the dangers of the Iranian escalation and sectarian incitement in the region.
In a statement that was read by Speaker Atef Tarawneh during today's session the House stressed the importance of respecting the sovereignty and independence of Arab Gulf states stopping interference in their internal affairs and enhancing the unity of the Arab and Islamic nation.
"The actions and statements of the Iranian government serve enemies of the nation who seek to incite sedition and distort the image of Islam" the statement said urging Iran to change its policy towards its Arab neighbors and stop targeting the security of Saudi Arabia and other Arab Gulf states.
The House voiced full solidarity and support with Saudi Arabia in countering terrorism and extremism and strongly condemned the storming of the Saudi Embassy in Tehran saying it violates international law.
It also praised the Saudi Arabia's role in preserving stability in the region as well as its efforts to form a military alliance to fight terrorism.
