Saudi FM Meets Egyptian Counterpart


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Riyadh January 05 (QNA) - Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir met here with his Egyptian Counterpart Sameh Shoukry who is visiting Riyadh to participate in the Egyptian Saudi Coordination Council meeting.

During the meeting they discussed a number of issues of common concern and reviewed bilateral relations Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

Following the meeting Al-Jubeir said in a statement that the meeting came within the framework of the continuous consultation and coordination between the two countries on the sidelines of the Saudi-Egyptian Coordination Council to exchange views on many issues of mutual concern especially the Palestinian issue and the importance of finding a solution to the conflict leading to the establishment of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital in addition to the situation in Syria Iraq Yemen and Libya.

He also said that they discussed bilateral issues relating to coordination consultation and investments in addition to the latest developments regarding the Iranian intervention in the region's affairs.

For his part the Egyptian Foreign Minister said that his visit is an opportunity to activate what was agreed upon during the second session of an intensive and continuous consultative framework between the Foreign Ministers of both countries on the latest developments at the regional and international levels.
