Heavy snow shuts schools in 37 provinces across Turkey


(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) Heavy snow led to school closures in more than a third of Turkey’s 81 provinces on Monday local officials said.

Authorities in 37provinces including Ankara Kayseri Diyarbakir Rize andMersin said schools had been shut for one or two days due to weather conditions.

Turkish Airlines announced that flights from Sanliurfa and Sivas provinces had been cancelled due to the weather.

On Monday seven people were killed in a buscrash caused bysnowy conditions in the central Anatolian province of Kirsehir.
