His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai today completed 10 years of his accession.

Over these 10 years a development drive has taken over the emirate that made the world stand up and notice the small desert nation. From the Arab Reading Challenge launched this year - with more than a million students committing to read 50 million extracurricular books - to the Dh2-billion Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Fund to Finance Innovation his initiatives take care of both the UAE and the world and will continue to do so.

While a lot has been written about the achievement of Shaikh Mohammed and the Emirate of Dubai here's a list of what Shaikh Mohammed loves doing the most.

1. Horse racing: This is one of the most well known hobbies of Shaikh Mohammed. He has loved horses ever since he was a child. He is the founder of the Godolphin Stables and the owner of Darley.



2. Love for cars: Shaikh Mohammed loves to drive around in his white Mercedes G63. With a number plate that reads "DUBAI 1" the SUV can be spotted from a distance.



3. Writing: Shaikh Mohammed is an avid poet and writer and his books are hugely popular among his fans and followers.



4. Falconry: Falcons hold a special place in Shaikh Mohammed's heart and he is often seen holding one on his hand in Dubai's deserts.



5. Yacht: Shaikh Mohammed is fond of yachts and owns the 531-feet long yacht Dubai. It's the third-largest yacht in the world.



6. Camel racing: Shaikh Mohammed loves camels as much as he loves horses. He is known to attend camel racing events across the UAE from time to time.
