Oman- Large quantity of drugs and liquor seized 13 arrested

The North Batinah Police Command recently made 13 arrests in four cases that involved drug trafficking abuse possession and bootlegging.

A source in the Directorate General for Combating Drugs and Psychotropic Substances said that a citizen was arrested on charges of drug possession abuse and trafficking.

A raid following a tip-off yielded 201 tablets of psychotropic drugs besides a prescription forged in the name of a hospital in the sultanate. The accused had stolen the hospital seal to forge the document so that he could procure the drugs.

In a separate case another citizen was arrested on the same charges and two bags of heroin drug and tobacco were found in his possession. One arrest was made in Saham. The accused is a citizen who was found to have a large quantity of illegal alcohol in his possession for bootlegging. Separately ten persons were arrested for drug abuse and possession.
