Iran to add Georgia to its Caucasian gas clients


(MENAFN) Iran intends to export its gas to Georgia via Armenia, and the plan will be implemented in line with decisions reached during talks between Iranian and Georgian officials.

According to the National Iranian Gas Export Company (NIGEC), Turkey is currently the major buyer of Iran's gas importing 30 million cubic meters of gas per day.

Additionally, In the Caucasus region, which borders Europe and Asia, countries such as Azerbaijan and Armenia are also willing and keen to purchase Iran's gas, based on reports.

Georgia is the last nation in the Caucasus region to buy Iran's gas, hence if the plan to export gas to that country is applied, all states in the Caucasus will be customers of Iran's gas.
