Saudi Arabia halts flights with Iran
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RIYADH Jan 4 (KUNA) -- Saudi Arabia's airports will no longer be operating flights to or from Iran its civil aviation authority said on Monday a day after Riyadh severed diplomatic ties with Tehran."All carriers have been instructed to postpone and prevent any flights to and from Iran due to the blatant attacks on the Saudi embassy in Tehran and consulate in Mashhad" said the body in a statement.The attacks carried out by groups of people led to fierce international condemnation with Saudi Arabia laying the blame on authorities in Tehran whom they blame for inflaming the situation.
