Saudi- Ambassador of Sudan: Sudan's declaration of severing diplomatic relations with Iran came in solidarity with the Kingdom and a rejection of Iranian policies in the region


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Riyadh Rabi'I 24 1437 January 04 2016 SPA -- Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan to the Kingdom Abdel Hafez Ibrahim Mohammed stressed that Sudan's announcement of breaking diplomatic ties with Iran came in solidarity with the Kingdom and a rejection of Iranian policies in the region pointing out that Khartoum which fights along with the kingdom and the rest of the Arab coalition countries to restore legitimacy in Yemen has taken a position rejecting Iranian interference in the affairs of the kingdom.

In a press statement the Sudanese ambassador said that Sudan's decision to break off diplomatic relations with Tehran is a confirmation by the political leadership in Sudan that the national security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a red line and any threat to it is a direct threat to the national security of Sudan and confirmation that the two countries in the same trench pointing out that Kingdom is the land of the Two Holy Mosques and Muslims' qiblah (direction of prayers) and it has historic positions that are appreciated by the people of Sudan.

He explained that the implementation of the authorities in the Kingdom of court ruling against terrorists who committed crimes in its territories is a full sovereign right that no state may intervene in it and that the judiciary in the Kingdom is an independent judiciary based on the Holy Quran and Sunnah and that conviction of these terrorists were the result of a series of litigation proceedings of various grades.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan to the Kingdom said that Sudan's position comes in solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in all that it takes of positions safeguarding the vital interests of the Arab and Muslim worlds pointing out that Sudan's decision to break off diplomatic relations with Iran was accepted and supported greatly by the Sudanese people who refuse interference in the internal affairs of any state.

He stressed that the escalation against the kingdom the storming of its embassy in Tehran and its consulate in Mashhad setting fire inside them and burning the Saudi flag is an unacceptable behavior in all international charters and norms and is contrary to international conventions especially the Vienna Convention of 1961.
