Kuwait- Al Ghanim condemns storming of Saudi Embassy in Iran


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT Jan 4 (KUNA) -- Chairman of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU) and Speaker of Kuwait's National Assembly Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanim on Monday condemned the storming of the Saudi Embassy in Tehran and the Kingdom's Consulate in Mashhad.Al-Ghanim stressed in a press statement that the aggression was a flagrant violation of a country's commitment to protect diplomatic missions and guarantee safety of diplomatic staff.He underlined "full solidarity" with Saudi Arabia and fully reiterated the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) statement.As soon as Al-Ghanim returns home he will convene a private emergency session for the National Assembly to discuss the accelerating developments on the arena according to the statement.Al-Ghanim said that regional conditions and latest developments necessitate holding discussions and dialogue at the Abdullah Al-Salem Hall (National Assembly) so that representatives of the nation can voice their views and stances in line with principles of democracy and dialogue frameworks for the good of consensus and national interests apart from emotions.Al-Ghanim renewed his call to the Kuwaiti MPs to gather around the political leadership and His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah whose wisdom was obviously revealed in many local regional and international situations.Storms sweeping the region and the world at large prompt representatives of the nation to be alert and to assume their responsibilities and support His Highness the Amir at the current stage he added.
