Jordanian, Saudi Forum kicks off Tuesday


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman Jan. 4 (Petra)--The Jordanian-Saudi economic forum and the eighth meeting for the Jordanian-Saudi Business Council kick off tomorrow on the sidelines of the 15th session meetings for the joint Jordanian-Saudi economic committee.

The forum which is organized by the Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC) will include a presentation by the Jordan Investment Commission on the attractive investment opportunities in the Kingdom including in the Aqaba Special Economic Zone. The vent will also witness meetings between Jordanian and Saudi businessmen.

JCC President Nael Kabariti said in a press statement on Monday that the forum provides a good opportunity to further promote economic cooperation between Jordan and Saudi Arabia and between the private sector of both countries.

He stressed the need to make use of such events to highlight investment opportunities mainly in the sectors of energy IT tourism real estate infrastructure electricity education training hotels exhibitions and conferences.

Kabariti praised Saudi investments in Jordan's various sectors that exceed $10 billion pointing to their positive impact on the national economy. Jordan's exports to Saudi Arabia stood at $852 million last year while the Kingdom's imports from the neighboring country reached $2.4 billion.
