Jordan condemns storming of Saudi Embassy in Tehran


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman Jan. 3 (Petra) -- Jordan has strongly condemned the storming of the Saudi Embassy in Tehran yesterday and said it constitutes a flagrant violation of the international law and relevant conventions.

State Minister for Media Affairs and Government Spokesperson Mohammad Momani voiced Jordan's solidarity and support to Saudi Arabia in facing extremism and terrorism. He also condemned the Iranian interference and anti-Saudi Arabia rhetoric following the execution of convicted Saudi persons.

Momani said that diplomatic missions should be protected and respected in line with the international law.

Iranian protesters stormed the Saudi Embassy in the Iranian capital in the early hours of Sunday starting fires before being removed by the police.
