Heliopolis Sporting Club wins first Cairo Water Polo Festival
(MENAFN- Daily News Egypt) Heliopolis Sporting Club (HSC) defeated Gezira Club, 10-6, in the final of the the first Cairo Water Polo Festival, held at the Cairo International Stadium.
13 Egyptian clubs participated in the inaugural event. HSC player Karim Abu Dawud won the award for the competition's best player.
With the championship win, HSC presides over the sport in Egypt.
Egypt has gained prominence in the international field of water polo competition, having won third place in the 24th Heliopolis International Water Polo and Synchronized Swimming Tournament, held at HSC, in Cairo, in September 2015. The Hungarian club Szentes placed first followed by the Serbian club Partizan.
