Turkish coast guards arrest 45 illegal Syrian immigrants


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ISTANBUL Jan 2 (KUNA) -- Turkish Coast Guards arrested Saturday 34 Syrian immigrants who were illegally sailing from Turkey to Greek islands the Anadolu news agency reported.Coast guards arrested the Syrians off Aydin State in the Aegean Sea after receiving a tip about an illegal immigration attempt to Greece said the agency.It added that the guards also arrested an 18-year-old smuggler who was driving the boat. The name or nationality of the smuggler were not disclosed.Immigrants have been using the Turkish coasts at the Aegean sea as a gateway for better life in Europe due to difficulties in obtaining work permits in Turkey.
