UAE- Biosecurity committee approves two phases of national strategy

DUBAI 2nd January 2016 (WAM) --- The National Committee of the Biosecurity has approved the projects of phase 2 and phase 3 of its national strategy to build capacities and standarise electronic reporting to alert the relevant authorities in time.

The approval came during the fourth meeting for 2015 chaired by Dr. Rashid Ahmed bin Fahad Minister of Environment and Water.

The committee also discussed regulatory frameworks and the responsibilities of the concerned authorities.

Phase 1 of the strategy included biosecurity regulations for protecting the health of humans plants and animals and response plans to counter biological agents.
