Saudi foreign ministry summons Iranian ambassador

RIYADH 2nd January 2016 (WAM) - An official source of the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs disclosed today that the Ministry has summoned the Iranian ambassador to the Kingdom today and handed him a strong-worded protest note on the aggressive Iranian statements issued in response to the Islamic rulings carried out on terrorists in the Kingdom.

Saudi Press Agency said that during the meeting the Ministry expressed the Kingdom's denunciation and categorical rejection to such aggressive statements which it considers a flagrant violation into the Kingdom's internal affairs.

The Saudi Foreign Ministry also held the Iranian government completely responsible towards the protection of the Saudi Arabian embassy in Tehran and the Kingdom's consulate in the city of Mash-had and the safety of all its personnel from any hostile actions as per international agreements and laws.
