India, Pakistan swap nuclear installations lists under bilateral pact


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) NEW DELHI Jan 1 (KUNA) -- India and Pakistan on Friday exchanged the lists of their nuclear installations under a bilateral pact that deter both countries from attacking one another's atomic facilities."India and Pakistan today exchanged through diplomatic channels simultaneously at New Delhi and Islamabad the list of nuclear installations and facilities covered under the Agreement on the Prohibition of Attack against Nuclear Installations between India and Pakistan" said India's External Affairs Ministry.The agreement signed on December 31 1988 and which entered into force on January 27 1991 provides that the two nations inform each other of nuclear installations and facilities to be covered under the agreement on the first of January of every year the statement added.The fact that India and Pakistan have abided by the agreement despite tensions in relation to the Kashmir issue indicates the seriousness both countries attach to the agreement.
