Uber Technologies Inc. is an American global transportation network firm based in California, and it develops, markets and operates the famous Uber mobile app.
Uber has expanded to hundreds of cities around the world, offering new options for both riders and drivers but also running into complaints from the taxi industry.
"One billion, that's a whole lot of riders and drivers sharing the road, special moments, and celebrations together," said the company's CEO.
