Jordan- Chilly snowy weather forecast Friday Saturday


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman Jan. 1 (Petra) -- Extremely cold weather with heavy downpour is expected to affect most parts of the Kingdom on Friday bringing snowfall in the northern central and southern mountains 1000 meters above sea level.

Snowfall is forecast to extend to regions above 800 meters of sea-level. Winds will be northwesterly and gusty at 60-70 KM per hour.

The cold snap is expected to affect the Kingdom on Saturday therefore rainy weather and snow showers are expected every now and then.

According to the Jordan Metrological Department (JMD) a slight rise in temperatures is expected on Sunday but light rain is possible in different regions of the country.

Frost formation is expected nationwide the JMD cautions.

Temperatures in Amman on Friday will reach a high of 6 degrees Celsius dropping to 3 at night while the central areas will feel a high of 5 Celsius degrees down to 4 at night.
