(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Algiers Rabi'I 21 1437 January 01 2016 SPA -- Foreign Minister Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir lauded the cooperation relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Algeria describing the views of the two countries as identical in many areas.
Al-Jubeir explained that the relations between the two countries will develop in the future in all areas
This came in a joint press conference with his Algerian counterpart Ramtane Lamamra at the conclusion of the meeting of the political consultation committee between the two countries on Thursday.
He added that the meeting discussed bilateral and regional issues and the prevailing situation including the Palestinian issue and how to push the peace process forward in order to reach a Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital as well as the prevailing situations in Syria Iraq and Yemen and the phenomenon of terrorism in general and how to intensify cooperation between the two countries in this area whether in confronting terrorism or the extremist ideology.
On bilateral relations he explained that they discussed how to push the historical relations between the two countries forward and boost them further for the interests of the two countries and the two peoples noting the existence of identical views between the two countries in most of the bilateral and regional matters.
Al-Jubeir spoke of the existence of coordination among OPEC countries on the issue of the low price of oil stressing that oil prices are subject to global oil markets supply and demand and economic growth in the world.
He said "We are following up these things carefully and trying to have no shortfall in production or excess production in order to create a reasonable level of prices in a way that serves the interests of consumers and producers"
He added "This is what we seek and there is constant consultation among the kingdom Algeria and oil producing countries in this regard."
For his part the Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed his belief that 2016 will be a year full of achievements and progress on the partnership between Algeria and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia stressing the importance of achieving a multi-faceted partnership that will be mutually beneficial and live up to the level of the political relationship and trust between the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud and Algerian President Abdulaziz Bouteflika.
In the same context the Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed that the visit of Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs gave a new push to the Saudi-Algerian relations pointing out that the cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Algeria includes all political economic and security fields.
