Kuwait- Gov't to review report on subsidies soon- Min.


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT Dec 31 (KUNA) --The government has already entrusted an official body with a study on all subsidies and the results will soon be submitted to the cabinet Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Acting Minister of Electricity and Water Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah said.Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah made the statement to reporters on Thursday in his answer to a question on the government's intention to raise prices of some goods.The cabinet will review the outcome of the study and make suitable decisions the minister said on the sidelines of a ceremony held for introducing new equipment for the Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD).The new equipment is a translation of the KFSD ambitious schemes that go in line with the national development plan based on the human element and modernization of tools he said.Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah lauded the role and great efforts by Kuwaiti fire fighters in carrying out their missions.For his part KFSD Director General Lt. Gen. Yousef Abdullah AL-Ansari said that they were celebrating the introduction into service of firefighting and rescue vehicles and boats. They are part of the KFSD schemes and projects comprised on the national development plan he added.Al-Ansari referred to private companies as a strategic partner for promoting KFSD performance and modernizing equipment. He appreciated their help.For his part Acting Deputy Director General of Fire Fighting Sector Brigadier Jamal AL-Belaihis stressed eagerness on the promotion of the human element.He added that up to 191 items including eight boats were introduced to service today with total costs of KD 25 million (USD 82 million).
