NY man arrested for planning ISIL inspired attack


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) WASHINGTON Dec 31 (KUNA) -- A man who planned to stage an attack inspired by the so-called Islamic State (ISIL) on New Year's Eve in upstate New York has been arrested and charged with attempting to provide material support to the terrorist organization the Department of Justice (DOJ) revealed Thursday.The 25-year-old Emanuel L. Lutchman of Rochester New York may face up to 20 years in prison and a USD 250000 fine the DOJ said."He planned to kill innocent civilians" Assistant Attorney General for National Security John P. Carlin said.Court records say Lutchman received directives from overseas to carry out an attack on a restaurant or bar in Rochester on the night of December 31."What began as an ISIL directive to harm the community ended with the arrest of this defendant and a message for any other individuals considering similar behavior - you will be caught you will be prosecuted and you will be punished" US Attorney for the Western District of New York William J.
