At least 28 journalists killed across Iraq in 2015


(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) Twenty-eight journalists were killed in Iraq in 2015 the Press Freedom Advocacy Association in Iraq said in a recent report.

The association said 17 of the victims were killed by Daesh.Another 25 journalists were injured while covering military operations. The fate of four journalists remains unknown.

The report documented180 cases of violations against journalists in Iraq includingdeath threats arrest detention beating andprevention fromcoverage.

Journalism in Iraq continues to be a risky careeras 14 journalists were killed in 2014 by Daesh and other unidentified groups according to theIraqi Journalists Union.
