(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman Dec.31(Petra) -- A cold air mass centered over eastern Europe is expected to affect the Kingdom on Thursday; therefore temperatures will drop bringing chilly partly cloudy to cloudy weather with heavy rain accompanied by lightening thunder and hail .
The Jordan Metrological Department (JMD) said that winds will be westerly brisk with strong gusts.
The impact of the polar front will deepen on Friday when a sharp drop in mercury levels is expected. Therefore the weather will be very chilly with cloudy skies and heavy rain accompanied with lightening thunder and hail. Snow fall is also forecast in areas 1000 meters above sea level and 800 meters at night the JMD added.
Temperatures in Amman for today will reach a high of 11 degrees Celsius dropping to 4 degrees Celsius at night.
