(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Doha December 30 (QNA) - HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani presided over the cabinet weekly regular session held today at the Emiri Diwan.
After the meeting HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud stated the following: The cabinet discussed topics tabled on the agenda and took the following decisions: Approved proposals by the Supreme Council of Health on the amendment of some provisions of Law No. 7 of 2013 on health insurance.
The amendments annul the state-owned National Health Insurance Company and all matters related to its responsibilities on the management of the system and allowing private insurance companies to provide insurance coverage services of all kinds to citizens and others.
The Cabinet was briefed about proposals of the committee set up to study a report of the National Traffic Safety Committee on the results of its study on recommendations of the Advisory Council on road congestion in Doha city and decided to refer the recommendations to the specialized bodies to study the possibility of their implementation.
Approved recommendations of the Ministry of Environment on the establishment of facilities for the treatment storage and disposal of hazardous and medical waste.
Among these recommendations were the treatment and disposal of hazardous industrial waste at the Hazardous Waste Treatment Centre in Messaieed allowing the establishment of facilities for burning such waste in the hazardous waste treatment area under the supervision of Qatar Petroleum and the establishment of projects for the treatment and recycling of medical waste in the area.
Approved a proposal for the supervision of the Supreme Education Council on the Qatar Scouts and Guides Association instead of the Ministry of Culture Arts and Heritage.
Qatar Scouts and Guides Association is an authority with a legal person that undertake and supervise the movement of scouts and in the government and national sectors.
The society aims at preparing and educating the youngsters to become good citizens.
Approved the hosting of the 3rd High Level Meeting of the Middle East Aviation Safety Summit to be held in Doha from 7 to 9 March 2016.
Approved the joining of the 1988 Protocol of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) 1974 and the 1988 Protocol on the International Convention on Load Lines 1966.
Approved a draft agreement on cooperation and news exchange between Qatar News Agency and Mexican News agency of the United Mexican States.
The Cabinet reviewed a letter by HE the Minister of Environment on the 31st High Level Preparatory Meeting of the Parties to the Conference of the United Nations Convention on Climate Change and took the appropriate decision.
