(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman Dec. 30 (Petra) -- A major cold air mass is forecast to affect the Kingdom over weekend brining snow to mountainous areas and downpours in other regions of the country while temperature will be around the freezing point on Friday and Saturday.
The Jordan Meteorological Department said the air mass will start to affect the Kingdom on Thursday with scattered showers of intermittent rain in the central and northern highlands. On Friday very chilly weather is forecast with snow fall in areas 1000 meters above sea level.
As for today light rain is expected every now-and-then especially in the southern region including the Red Sea port city of Aqaba. Temperature will reach a high of 12 degrees Celsius in Amman today dropping to 5 degrees Celsius at night.
