(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat-

The Social Committee of the State Council on Tuesday held its fourth meeting of the first annual sitting of the sixth term under its chairman Dr Hamad bin Sulaiman al Salmi. It reviewed the issues that it will discuss during the current sitting.

The committee will study several subjects to propose new laws or amend some of the laws and regulations in force.

The proposed subjects for study by the committee include changes in the social security system to reduce the number of beneficiaries.

It plans to enhance the role of civil society organisations in helping such beneficiaries become self-dependent. Other subjects include improving the public health system.

The committee approved minutes of its previous meeting and the report on implementing the decisions made at that meeting upon which appropriate decisions were taken.
