UAE- Al Qubaisi commends meeting with Sheikh Mohamed

ABU DHABI 29th December 2015 (WAM) --- Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi Speaker of Federal National Council (FNC) highlighted the importance of a meeting of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces with members of the legislature yesterday.

She said Sheikh Mohamed's remarks during the meeting at the Qasr Al Bahr Palace reflect the great interest the leadership namely President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan takes in establishing the values of democracy and shura (consultation).

Al Qubaisi said the meeting reflects cohesion between the leadership and people.

She noted that the Sheikh Mohamed also voiced unlimited support for the role being played by the Federal National Council.

Al Qubaisi said the vision presented by H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed during the meeting provides a roadmap for the council and the government. They also identify the pillars for advancing the performance at the legislative supervisory and executive levels she added.

Sheikh Mohamed told the audience that the year 2015 saw the UAE making several achievements under the wise leadership of the President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

He said the drop in oil prices did not stop the country from continuing economic development thanks to the economic diversification policies.

The election of Al Qubaisi as the first female speaker of the FNC this year was a first for the Middle East.
