Dubai Silicon Oasis assess emergency readiness and response

DUBAI 29th December 2015 (WAM) -- Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA) the regulatory body of Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO) the integrated free zone technology park organised for the sixth consecutive year two fire drills in collaboration with Dubai Civil Defence Dubai Police Dubai Rescue Department and Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services.

The exercise was conducted for the Light Industrial Units phases 3 and 4 to test the efficiency of the existing fire evacuation plans and assess the preparedness and response time of the safety and security teams in emergency situations. A simulated fire incident scenario was enacted with fire trucks and ambulances to support the evacuation process and provide a realistic emergency atmosphere.

Bader Al Mansoory Associate Director - Operations at DSOA said: "We would like to commend and thank the authorities in contributing to the success of this programme as well as our business partners who showed great commitment and maturity in supporting this drill. Since 2010 we have been organising annual safety trainings and fire drills for employees business partners and the wider community at Dubai Silicon Oasis to raise awareness and ensure preparedness of a quick and responsible response in emergency situations.

"DSOA implements a comprehensive CSR strategy based on three main pillars; environment human capital and community. In line with this strategy we have taken on the responsibility of conducting such emergency drills to highlight the importance of having an evacuation plan in place and following it precisely to ensure the safety of occupants and visitors alike" he added.

A wholly-owned entity of the government of Dubai DSO operates as a free zone technology park for large enterprises medium and small companies looking to set up their offices in Dubai.
