Former England star Frank Lampard has dismissed rumours about a 'conspiracy' at Chelsea.

"Trouble at Chelsea is nothing new but the club have had similar problems when they ran into rough weather before. In such times as the one we are seeing now there are bound to be doubts cropping up between the coach and the player and vice versa it's a natural development when 'blame' becomes the easy way out. The word conspiracy is too severe and it's the wrong word in the context. There's no such phenomenon at Chelsea a place I still keep in touch with where I know the players coach and management so well" said the former West Ham United Swansea City (loan) and Chelsea (13 years) superstar.

Lampard who is currently playing for the New York City in the MLS and Italian star Andrea Pirlo were honoured during the Dubai Globe Soccer Awards on Sunday night with the Best Playing Career awards. The duo were also present for the second and final day's Dubai International Sports Conference (DISC) 'Challenges and Achievements' themed discussions at the Madinat Jumeirah on Monday.

Debutants New York FC have mega star Andrea Pirlo of Juventus and Italian national team fame also in their midfield operations in the MLS this season.

Thirty six-year-old Pirlo said: "My playing career has been long and gone through various changes. MLS has been a refreshing change in outlook professionally and both Lampard and I are thoroughly at home playing with a new setup."

Lampard 37 who is on loan from Manchester City to the New York FC outfit at the moment added: "Keeping abreast of the changes and challenges are big tests for a player at any level.

"Players have to realise their base first if they are to feel comfortable in new zones or troubled times just as they will be feeling right now at Chelsea. The lads there are a great bunch. The management is going through another transient period which they should be used to. As players the important task is to deliver first then talk. Everybody has responsibilities" he said.

"I have no comment on the intricacies involvement as I am no one directly involved but there are no major issues as portrayed by the media and the fraternity to start with. The job they have right now is to set things right on the field during the training sessions and matches."

Lampard continued: "As a player I tried my best to find my own space in times of difficulties. This is easy to say but one has to find paths within the parameters of individual limitations and abilities.

"I don't like to see myself too far ahead as we cannot be change makers at the level we are talking about. I still like the place and atmosphere at Chelsea and possible future roles there are not in my agenda at the moment despite my strong feelings for the unit.

"I was lucky that during my time at Chelsea I was given room and space to be myself and am grateful for this. The fans and members are a loving and well informed lot. They now have the peculiarities of the club to deal with and this is the strength the outfit will always bank on to come out of such momentary periods" Lampard said.
