UAE- Teacher shown door for assaulting pupil

A teacher was shown the doors for beating up an elementary school student in Ajman this October.

The Ministry of Education has terminated the teacher from service after taking into consideration a video footage and eye witness accounts' which proved the authenticity of allegations against him.

The ministry in a statement said the violations panel in view of the indications and evidences on hand and based on a confession made by the teacher that he had made such a mistake which are in contradiction with the ministry's instructions it has been decided that the teacher be sacked with maintaining his right for his end-of-service gratuity.

Earlier the ministry upon learning about the incident when the video clip had gone viral suspended the teacher and referred him to the legal affairs department to question him over the allegations.

Speaking to Arabic daily Al Bayan the ministry confirmed that it took a bunch of stringent measures to put an end to such unhealthy practices in educational institutions.
