S. Korean Doosan, India seal USD939m deal


(MENAFN) South Korea's top power equipment maker, Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co., Ltd., has bagged a USD939 million contract to construct a power plant in India, based on reports.

Additionally, the deal was inked with NTPC Ltd., India's state-run energy service firm, and the project consists of building a new 4,000 megawatt power plant in Andhra Pradesh, eastern India.

Moreover, Doosan secured another scheme worth USD167 million to supply one 600-megawatt steam generator to the Harduaganj Thermal Power Station in the northern part of India.

Doosan is a heavy industrial company head-quartered in Changwon, and its business includes manufacturing nuclear power plants, thermal power plants, turbines and generators and desalination plants.
