Iraqi forces in control of Ramadi gov't building- army


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BAGHDAD Dec 27 (KUNA) -- Iraqi government forces are in control of the government complex buildings in Ramadi capital of Anbar governorate after so-called ISIL militants fled from premises thus regaining 80 percent of the city the army said Sunday.
The government complex in downtown Ramadi is under full control of the Iraqi forces after remaining ISIL militants who were fighting the troops from inside the building fled the Joint Operations Command said in a statement.
Joint forces from the army special troops and counter-terrorism are clearing the complex from booby traps and the Iraqi flag expected to be hoisted tomorrow it said.
The Iraqi forces are in control of 80 percent of Ramadi and only few neighborhoods in the north are left to be cleared from the terrorists it added.
Meanwhile Iraqi air force bombarded two ISIL positions in the city of Al-Qa'em in Anbar killing 25 terrorists. (end) ahh.bs
