UAE- SCCI and Moroccan Consulate discuss cooperation

SHARJAH 27th December 2015 (WAM) -- The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry SCCI and the Moroccan Consulate in the UAE have discussed areas of cooperation between the two sides in order to serve the business community and work on the implementation of joint activities which contribute to the strengthening of economic relations and identifying investment opportunities available to each party.

The SCCI stressed its keenness to support and develop economic relations between the UAE in general and Sharjah in particular and sisterly Arab countries to harness all the available possibilities of strengthening cooperation relations as well as to encourage the private sector to step up areas of cooperation to achieve increases in the volume of trade exchange between the UAE and the Arab countries in general and the Moroccan Kingdom in particular.

During the meeting which was held with the participation of Abdullah Sultan Al Owais Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chamber and Mohammed Al Bernoussi Consul-General of the Kingdom of Morocco the chamber expressed its appreciation for the efforts made by the consulate in advancing economic relations between the business community in the UAE and Morocco in addition to its role in cultural educational and social exchange between the two countries.

The meeting also discussed the possibility of cooperation between the two sides in motivating and encouraging Moroccan investors and businessmen to discover investment opportunities in Sharjah for the establishment of joint projects with their counterparts in the UAE and benefit from the experience and expertise of Moroccan human resources in the promotion of projects hoped to be established in the global markets.

The two sides also discussed a proposal on the formation of a committee between the chamber and the consulate to organise Moroccan Week in Sharjah where economic heritage and cultural events would be held to promote the Kingdom of Morocco. The meeting was attended by a number of senior officials.
