Kuwait's amb. to Australia visits Australian Nat'l archive


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUALA LUMPUR Dec 27 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Ambassador to Australia Najib Al-Bader met on Sunday Head of the historical references department at the National Archives of Australia Michael Winkey.An embassy statement said the two men discussed means of bolstering bilateral cooperation and exchanging expertise between the National Archives of Australia and Kuwait's National Archives and Research Center.The statement added that Al-Bader while visiting the headquarters of the National Archives of Australia in Canberra has viewed documents and official historical records and photographs related to the deep rooted Kuwaiti-Australian ties in the political cultural sports and economic fields.The diplomat was also briefed on the tasks of the archive and means of collecting and organizing official historical documents.He praised the developed mechanism of preserving the documents at the Australian National archive which allows an easy access to documents electronically in a short time which facilitates the process of preparing scientific researches.The meeting between Al-Bader and Winkey was attended by the Second Secretary at the Kuwaiti Embassy Zaid Al-Harb besides a number of officials of the Australian National archives.The National Archives of Australia is a body established by the Government of Australia for the purpose of preserving Commonwealth Government records.
