KUWAIT Dec 27 (KUNA) -- Kuwait National Petroleum Company KNPC a subsidiary of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation has announced that some manufacturing units and other units of the Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery were shut down on Sunday morning.

KNPC's official spokesman and vice CEO of Support Services Khalid Al-Asousi told Kuwait News Agency KUNA that the Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery management made a decision to shut down the units as a precautionary measure following an outage of available cooling water coming from the sea which the Public Authority for Industry pumps to the refinery.

He explained that the unscheduled suspension resulted in some emissions and fumes for a limited period of under an hour saying that work is under way to restart the stalled units and return them to normal operations.
