Morocco- Moroccan Minister Says She Works 22 Hours a Day


(MENAFN- Morocco World News) Moroccan Minister Delegate in Charge of Environment Hakima El Haite claimed in a televised interview on Thursday that she works 22 a day.

El Haite was invited to Medi1 TV's show '90 Minutes to Convince' to discuss the achievement of the policies implemented by her department. But the highlight of her TV appearance was when said made the claim that works 22 hours a day meaning that she sleeps as little as two hours a day.

The Minister attempted to dismiss the accusation directed by Moroccan media at her and other Ministers who belong to her party the Popular Movement (MP).

'I'm often told that my name is associated with scandals. But what scandals are we talking about? I work 22 hours a day' Hakima El Haite replied which provoked laughter from the host.

Her comment has stirred uproar among Moroccan social media users who have been mocked her response saying it “is impossible” for a human being to work 22 hours a day and sleep for only two hours.

The '90 Minutes' video in which she is seen giving making her claim has gone viral.

El Haite's questionable comment comes following the remarks made by her colleague Minister Delegate in Charge of Water Charafat Afilal during a TV show aired on Moroccan TV channel Al Oula last week.

When asked whether Ministers and MPs deserve to benefit from a pension above the average pension allocated to other Moroccans Afilal said that was a 'populist debate that does not deserve attention.'
