25 people perish in hospital fire in S. Arabia


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RIYADH Dec 24 (KUNA) -- At least 25 people died and 107 suffered injuries in a fire at a hospital in Jazan in South Saudi Arabia the Civil Defense said early on Thursday.

Saad Al-Ghamdi in charge of the civil defense said in a statement that a fire broke out in first floor of the four-storey hospital building adding that the blazes spread to the maternity and intensive care wards.
Firemen and relief teams rushed to the hospital to put out the blazes and aid the victims.
A special panel has been formed to investigate circumstances of the fire flare-up. (end) yms.rk
