Saudi King inaugurates new session of Shura council


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RIYADH Dec 23 (KUNA) -- Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia inaugurated Wednesday proceedings of the fourth year of the sixth session of the Shura Council in the capital Riyadh.In an annual address to the Shura Council his first since claiming the throne of the Kingdom King Salman asserted that the Kingdom has always been steadfast in its pursuit of challenges gripping the Arab world.King Salman underscored that development in an array of sectors including healthcare education and transportation remains the top priority. Bolstering national unity is significant he added.Chairman of the Shura Council Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mohammad Al-Sheikh listed some of the Council's recent achievements which include landmark edicts in economic and social realms.Moreover Al-Sheikh said that the crises in Palestine Syria and Yemen are of major precedence to the Council.Through cooperation and diligence the Shura Council will remain firm on serving national interests and ensuring continued peace and prosperity he added.
