Supreme Committee for Legacy Praises Relations with India


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Secretary General of the Supreme Committee for Legacy and Delivery Hassan Al Thawadi praised Monday relations with the All India Football Federation, describing it as strong.

Speaking to the press today, Al Thawadi said that relations with the Indian Football governing body has been enjoying strong momentum for some time. He praised the remarks made by the Federation's President Praful Patel on labor rights in Qatar. Al Thawadi said the comments were closer to the reality of what Qatar is trying to do in that field.

Patel had expressed the federation's appreciation to the efforts of the State of Qatar in treating Indian expats with respect and providing them with security and safety. He noted that the Indian expat community represents 50% of the entire Qatari population.

On the World Cup 2022, Al Thawadi said that the Qatari edition will be both an Arab and an Asian event. It will be the second time that Asia has hosted the World Cup.
