Saudi- GCC condemns kidnapping Qatari citizens in southern Iraq


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Riyadh 11 Rabi'I1437 AH 22 December2015 SPA -- The General Secretariat of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States said that the Council is following with deep concern the issue of kidnapping a number of Qatari citizens in southern Iraq.
The Secretariat described in a statement today that this shameful act is a blatant violation of international law and human rights and it is contrary to the provisions of the religion of Islam and an unacceptable act that harms the bonds of fraternal relations between Arab brothers.
It added : "At the time that the Council condemns the kidnapping of innocent citizens entered the Iraqi territory legally the Secretariat expresses its full solidarity with the Government of the State of Qatar in all actions to be taken in this regard hoping that the Qatari contacts with Iraq result in releasing the kidnapped citizens.
