Moroccan Foreign Minister holds talks with OIC Secretary General


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Rabat Rabi'I 11 1437 December 22 2015 SPA -- Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Salaheddine Mezouar held here on Monday talks with the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Iyad bin Amin Madani. During the talks they discussed a number of current regional and international issues.

Following the meeting the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Morocco told reporters that the talks focused on latest developments on the Islamic arena developments of the Palestinian issue and the situation in Syria Iraq and Yemen.

For his part the OIC Secretary General said that this meeting is part of coordination and consultation in preparation for holding the OIC next summit to be held in mid-April.

The Secretary General mentioned the challenges facing the Islamic world including the phenomenon of extremism which threatens Arab states and called for a complete solution to this phenomenon by searching for its roots circumstances and environment in order to uproot it.

The Secretary General also praised the role played by Morocco's King Mohammed VI as head of the Alquds Committee to protect the rights of the Palestinian people.
