Mariam Al Roumi: UAE succeeded in raising community awareness

DUBAI 21st December 2015 (WAM) -- Mariam bint Mohammed Khalfan Al Roumi Minister of Social Affairs has said that the UAE has highly succeeded in raising community awareness amongst individuals and enterprises in the country through bolstering their leading role in social work which is one of the main pillars required towards the renaissance and advancement of the nation under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai and Their Highnesses Members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates.

In a statement on the occasion of the Emirates Social Award which will honour 16 winners on Wednesday December 23rd at the Grand Hyatt Hotel Dubai Al Roumi said that the UAE has taken steps which were admired by many countries regionally and globally towards establishing a fixed approach to social responsibility by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Al Roumi added that the objectives of the award is to promote a culture of social responsibility and contribute to the dissemination of the concept of social partnership by honouring initiatives that support social services and also to encourage government private sector and individuals to provide financial and moral support in the areas of development and social welfare.
