Qatar- Arab League Welcome UN Resolution on Syrian Crisis

(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Cairo December 20 (QNA) - UN Resolution no. 2254 provides a valuable opportunity to resolve the Syrian Crisis based on the Geneva II conference the Arab League said Sunday.
Arab League Secretary-General Dr. Nabil El Araby welcomed the new resolution saying the Arab League was demanding to have such a resolution back in 2012.
He said that the biggest positive was the consensus the international community had over the resolution. El Araby stressed that regional and international parties involved continue working on encouraging the Syrian regime and members of the opposition to come to the table and start implementing the resolution. This should start with a ceasefire followed by having negotiations on the authorities of the transitional power that will be formed El Araby said. (QNA)
