S. Africa set to be top importer of Iran's oil

(MENAFN) South African refineries will carry on importing crude oil from Iran upon lifting the sanctions, as Iran was the 2nd supplier of crude oil to South Africa, according to the latest reports.

In more detail, South Africa's third largest refiner is going through discussions with US-based Chevron multinational energy corporation which operates a refinery in Cape Town to resume oil imports from Iran.

Meanwhile, Iran had already lined up its customers for a stepped-up production and had no worries to sell additional barrels, thus all storage and export installations and terminals are fully ready to raise exports.

"In the post-sanctions era, about 60pct of the rise in Iran's oil sales will be for the Asian markets and the rest of supplies will go to the South African and European markets," said the director of the National Iranian Oil Company.
