Iran assigns USD32b for 36 new petrochemical plants


(MENAFN) Iran intends to establish a section of the major Damavand Petrochemical Plant by mid-March 2016, according to the latest reports, which is a part of its huge comeback plan.

Generally, 36 new projects at USD32 billion have been defined in the nation's petrochemical hubs which will add another 60mn tons annually to the country's yearly output.

At the time being, a total of 19 vital petrochemical schemes are projected to become fully operational by Sep-2017, while 67 are currently under implementation.

Meanwhile, Iranian petrochemical factories process 44.5 million tons of petrochemicals yearly which is less than their nominal capacity due to feedstock shortages.
