Doha: Qatar National Day symbolises unity and camaraderie among the people of the country and this annual holiday marks the date in 1878 (December 18) when H H Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani succeeded his father and led the country towards unity.

To commemorate the occasion Regency Travel and Tours employees assembled at their head office to exchange greetings and express gratitude and respect for the Founder of modern Qatar Sheikh Jassim.

Patriotism and pride associated with the day were evident in the spirit and enthusiasm of the team. All branch offices of Regency were decked up in white and burgundy colours — the colours of the national flag — reflecting the strong sense of belonging to the great country.

Tareq Abdullatif Taha CEO Regency Travel and Tours expressed heartiest congratulations to Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Father Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and said: “Celebrating the National Day is a great occasion for Qatari people and expats as a way to express love for and loyalty to the country and its inspiring leadership. This is an opportunity to instil and reinforce the loyalty and the sense of belonging to Qatar which we all feel so strongly.

Addressing employees he stressed that celebrating the day every year strengthens state identity showcases its diverse culture and aligns our unified vision towards a progressive state.

He said the occasion imparts a sense of patriotism and pride to residents and urges collective efforts for development.

“The celebration reflects the core message of unity on which this nation was built and encourages people to continue to move towards a prosperous future while instilling a sense of togetherness and promoting national identity and pride.”

The company prominently displaying the national flag across its branches and all employees proudly wore National Day logo pins on their uniforms.

The head office displayed the national flag colours in symbol and spirit and employees waved the flag to showcase the strength and unity that bind them together like a family.
